Meet the owner
Hi, I’m Carita, the proud owner of Love2Learn Tutoring—or as I like to call it, my first “baby”!
My journey into tutoring started long before I even realized it. Back in school, my friends always came to me when they didn’t understand their homework, and I loved explaining things in a way that made sense to them.
After matric, I went on to study BComm Management Accounting at the University of Stellenbosch. While studying I saw a tutor job ad and signed up immediately— I was getting paid to do what I loved!
I worked as an accountant for a few years after graduating, but I struggled to adapt to corporate life. Eventually, in 2014, I took a leap of faith, quit my job, and started tutoring full-time. As more and more students needed help, I realized I couldn’t do it alone. That’s when I started appointing tutors for different subjects, and Love2Learn Tutoring was born!
I hold my tutors to very high standards. The most important skill they need? Explaining difficult concepts in simple terms—because that’s the key to helping struggling students succeed. My experience as a Mathematics and Accounting teacher from 2016 to 2018 gave me invaluable insights, which I used to shape Love2Learn Tutoring into what it is today.
I’m a proud Math and Accounting nerd, and I will relentlessly try to convince every student that these are the best subjects! The trick? Breaking concepts down into simple steps, explaining things in different ways until they click, and most importantly—building confidence. Because “Learning is fun if you understand!”
A little bit about me: I have four “babies”—Love2Learn Tutoring, my dog, my son, and my daughter. I’m a wife, a coffee and wine enthusiast, a lover of good food, creative activities, and I find peace in long walks in nature. I can’t wait to help your child grow in confidence and understanding!
